Unreliable results of GH-Fit for very inclined air showers
Hi,
@huege asked me to open this issue for documentation, it was already discussed with @pierog.
I found that the GH-fits performed by CORSIKA and stored in the DATnnnnnn.long files are giving unreliable results for very inclined air showers (zenith angles larger 80deg). Attached is one example of a fitted profile alongside the simulated profiles of the energy deposit and particle number and the Xmax distribution (CORSIKA-GH-fit) as function of the zenith angle for a set of 4000 inclined air showers with zenith angle between 65 and 85 deg. You can clearly see that the mean Xmax is shifted at the highest zenith angles towards more shallow Xmax.
