CI sometimes fails to run tests

The CI seems to be unstable. During MR !392 (merged) the build of the tests seems to work but running the tests failed for unknown reasons.

Remy: Something weird seems to be happening with the CI - I reran the jobs and got a different set of errors on the install job and the same error on the build. See here and here.
